Finding Your Winter Scent
Woods, Sweet Or Evergreen
Signature Santal Sandalwood, Chandan Sandalwood, Black Suede and Rouge Royale are the woods and amber. Whipped Vanilla and Gingerbread are the sweet side, Lavender Spice is floral, and Fraser Fir is the evergreen.
Room By Room
Fraser Fir in the entryway and Gingerbread in the kitchen. Black Suede in a den, Signature Santal in a home office, Rouge Royale in the living room, and Whipped Vanilla or Chandan Sandalwood in bedrooms.
Choosing A Wood
Signature Santal is the driest, with cedar and a lemon peel opening. Black Suede is darker, with suede and olibanum, and Rouge Royale is more resinous, with saffron, jasmine and fir resin. Chandan Sandalwood is sandalwood on its own.

Two Ways To Use Every Bottle
Each bottle can also be used as a room spray with the included fine mist attachment. Because the formula is concentrated and oil-based, a light spray is all you need to fill a room. Avoid spraying directly on leather, vinyl, wood, or painted surfaces, and be cautious over bare floors which can become slippery with repeated use.
Why Winter Scents Need More Depth
Most homes run the heat from December through February with the windows shut and almost no outside air coming in. That is a longer closed stretch than fall, when a warm afternoon still means an open window.
The closed house changes which scents feel right. Woods, amber, suede and vanilla suit a warm, heated house in a way that sea air and citrus do not.
The season is long, too. A scent picked in December is often still running in February, so this collection leans on scents that are easy to live with for months, like Black Suede, Signature Santal Sandalwood and Whipped Vanilla.

Our Best Winter Scents
Gamuza negra
Suede and amberwood with thyme, olibanum and saffron. A dark, softly smoky scent for dens and living rooms in the evening.
Chandan - Sándalo

Abeto de Fraser / Aguja de pino
Fir and pine needles with crisp evergreen air. A good fit for entryways and living rooms, and it works well past December.
Pan de jengibre
Ginger, cinnamon and molasses with a note of butter. A sweet, spiced scent for kitchens and dining rooms through December and into January.
Especia de lavanda
Lavender with cinnamon and cardamom. Commonly chosen for bedrooms and living rooms, and an option for winter without vanilla or wood.

Saffron, jasmine and amberwood with ambergris, cedar and fir resin. A rich amber scent for living rooms and dining rooms all season.
Sándalo Signature Santal
Sandalwood, cedar and cardamom with iris, violet and amber, after a lemon peel opening. Dry and woody, for living rooms and home offices all winter.

Tips For Winter Scenting
Start Low Once The Heat Is On
Once the heat is on for the season, begin on a low setting and adjust for the room, raising it only if you need to.
Change Scents After New Year's
Move from Gingerbread to Whipped Vanilla or Black Suede in early January. A new scent is easier to notice, and it suits the weeks after the holidays.
Buy For The Whole Season
If you are scenting more than one room from December through February, choose the 8.5 oz. or 24 oz. bottle so you are not reordering in January.
Winter Scent Questions
What are the best winter scents for home?
Signature Santal Sandalwood and Whipped Vanilla are the two to start with, one wood and one vanilla, and both suit December through February. Add Fraser Fir for an entryway.
Is lavender a winter scent?
Most people file lavender under spring, but paired with spice it fits winter. Lavender Spice adds cinnamon and cardamom, which gives the lavender a warmer, spicier character.
Is cinnamon a fall or winter scent?
Both. With apple and pumpkin it reads as fall. With ginger and molasses, as in Gingerbread, it fits December and the first weeks of January.
Is amber a winter scent?
Yes. Amber is warm and resinous, which suits the colder months. Rouge Royale and Black Suede both have amberwood, and Rouge Royale adds ambergris.
Can you use summer scents in winter?
You can, though bright citrus and sea air can feel out of season in December. For something fresh that still suits winter, try Fraser Fir.
